Summer has finally arrived in Indiana and I'm lovin' it.

The promise of new adventures and new beginnings are in the air.  There's a certain excitement when summer arrives that cannot be ignored.

There are a few new features in this newsletter and I sincerely hope everyone thoroughly enjoys them and takes full advantage of them by contributing your own thoughts and ideas as well.

The first new feature is my Prayer Request column.  I have two people who are very close to me that are in desperate need of prayers.  Please drop me a note and let me know who you are in need of prayers for.

The second new feature is our "Reader Submissions" column.  I know everyone is extremely busy but if you can find the time, please do contribute and let's help each other out.  We can all benefit from the expertise of others.

The third and final new feature column is my "Craft Room Sweet Craft Room" column.  I have included there a few tips and tricks of my own.  We are all crafty people and as such have so much that we can share with each other.  Please don't think for a moment that your crafty experience is not significant ....because it is.  If nothing else we can share our "boo-boo's" and hopefully spare others the same total humiliation...lol.

The world at times can be a very small place.  I believe it's important to reach out to others, touch their hearts and let them know they are not alone.  That's my wish for this newsletter and these new columns.  You are all very important to me.  I've learned to take nothing and no one for granted.

I've made many friends since I began Lillie Mae's Crafts, my blog and this newsletter.  In celebration of these friendships, I created the "Friendship" tag on the right.  Enjoy!!!

If you can, please do contribute, and please don't hesitate to drop me a note if you have any thoughts or ideas for a different type of column.  This newsletter is for you all...your enjoyment.

Blessings Everyone,

Reader Submissions

I am desperate for E-patterns of penny rugs!  I know there are heaps of penny rugs patterns in the US but I'm in Australia and I have to tell you that I don't have the patience to wait 2 weeks for a pattern.

As I love penny rugs myself, I'm hoping to find the time soon to attempt to design one.  Until that time though, can anyone help Dee out with the addresses of sites offering free penny rug E-patterns?

Here are some links for penny rugs.

Crafting Tips & Tricks - Dolls

1.  When creating the eyes, try to find a button the size you desire, pin it in place on doll with large head straight pins and trace around this.  Your eyes will be more symmetrically round.

2.  Anything can be used for hair.  If you find some yarn you like, but it's a little thicker than you wanted, go ahead and try it.  Simply pull the layers of the yarn apart once on your doll's head.

3.  Try matching the embroidery floss you choose for your doll's nose with the color of hair you chose as well as the paint for her cheeks.
